Darcey digital painting.

I decided to do a digital painting of one of my human characters in order to find out what my weakest areas are when it comes to creating human characters.

While it is a vast improvement over the previous drawing in that the anatomy is more correct - especially in the face and hands - and aspects such as value and colour are more sensible, there is still a lot of room for improvement. From what I can gather, there are still a lot of areas where the anatomy is uncertain and has been "guessed". Lighting is still fairly uncertain and the way the clothes wrap around the body still looks incorrect. I feel that I will be splitting up my anatomical studies into both male and female categories. I feel that I have a lot more to learn about drawing the female form than the male form as well.
